Dog Psychology - Connecting the Physical and Relational Dot
Making sense of dominance, physical force and leadership is nearly
impossible for those who fail to see the full relational picture of dogs
and nature. What is presented by those who paint a stand alone image
of physical response is based on relational half truth. The
interpretive script of learning based ideology which presents the
picture that the physical is a snap shot of the cognitive is not always
correct. Beyond making the owner feel good reward based methodology is
often disconnected from relational truth. Similarly in the human world
actions and the motives do not always line up. The relational model I
present fills in the gaps and provides a clear picture of how a dog’s
decision making process is governed.
The difficulty many have with coming to terms with this relational picture is based on many influencing factors including ideology, emotional bias and mirroring, pride and relational half truth. This delusional cocktail puts many in a defensive position and in direct conflict with meeting a dog’s relational needs. I would encourage those interested in understanding this relational picture to check out my website at http://www.k9pack.com . The relational model and many videos are available for free.
